Albert Dale Gump, 72 of Fairmont, WV passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. He was born February 13, 1943 in Marion Co., WV, a son of the late William Grant Gump and Effie Loraine Haught Gump.
He is survived by 3 children, Alan Gump and wife Judith of Mannington, Anthony Gump and wife Von of Folsom and Lori Gump Glover and husband Jeffrey of Monongah; 5 grandchildren, Christopher “Andy” Gump and wife Amanda of Italy, Matthew Gump, Tiffany Gum and husband Nathan, James Gump and Julie Gump; 3 great-grandchildren, Brayden Gum, Major Gum and Maverick Gump; 2 sisters, Wilma Christner of Rachel and Mary Coen and husband Kenneth “Pete” of Smithfield; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Lou Gump who died on January 16, 2001; a son, Robert Jay Gump; a sister, Jean Linville; a brother, Robert G. Gump; 4 brothers-in-law, Pete Christner, Mike Linville, Jim Whiteman and Jerry Whiteman.
Albert worked driving truck over the road and also worked in the timber industry. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and just being outdoors.
Family and friends will be received at Masters Funeral Home at 209 Main Street, Mannington for Visitation on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 2-8pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 1:00pm with Evangelist Kenneth “Pete” Coen officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
