Alfred Hall Prout, Jr., 69 of Pine Grove, WV passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1945 at Washington D.C., a son of the late Alfred H. Prout Sr. and Laura Tayman Prout.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Groves Prout of Pine Grove, WV; 2 daughters, Laura Kelly Prout of Pine Grove and Annette Riley and her significant other, Mark DiFore of Annapolis, MD; a son, David Allen Prout and wife Lisa of Annapolis, MD; step-mother, Ann Prout of Lothian, MD; 3 grandchildren, Blake Prout, Stephanie Riley and Samantha Riley; one brother, George Edward Prout and wife Doris of Panama.
Alfred retired from Bell Atlantic as a cable splicer, having worked 29 years, retiring in 1992. He was a NRA member, a member of the Mannington Moose Lodge and Mannington Elks Lodge. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mannington.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Wednesday, June 17, from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6–8:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at a later date and at the convenience of the family. Cremation was chosen as the final method of disposition.
