Charles Franklin Duvall, age 95, of Mannington, WV passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Hospital in Clarksburg. He was born February 25, 1922 in Marion County, WV son of the late Franklin Joseph Duvall and Carrie Bell Archer Duvall.
He is survived by his two sons, Bill and Lois Duvall of Mannington and Theodore Eugene Duvall of Mannington; 8 grandchildren, Melissa Henry, Jessica Field, Andrew Chicarelli, Amanda Goodwin, William (BJ) Franklin Duvall II, Tiffany Dawn Duvall Gilbert, Amber Lynn Duvall Gilbert, and Carol Ann Duvall Gilbert; 5 great-grandchildren, Preston Field, Mariah Field, Austin Field, David Henry, and Caleb Goodwin.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife Georgia Rose Duvall who died August 16, 2014; and several brothers and sisters.
Charles was a faithful member Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during WWII on the 44th Tank Battalion where he was a Bronze Arrowhead Recipient with 4 Bronze Stars, and also a Philippine Liberation Ribbon Recipient with 2 Bronze Stars. He was an employee of Longstreth Motors in Mannington as a mechanic and then was employed with Pennzoil for 30 years.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St. Mannington on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 4-9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Lee Bowman officiating. Full Military Rites will be accorded by the United States Army and Marion County Veterans Council immediately following funeral services in the funeral home parking lot.
