Connie Sharon Hobson, 69, of Mannington (Rymer Community), WV went home to be her angel in Heaven on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at West Virginia University Hospital. She was born April 16, 1945 in Wileyville, WV, a daughter of the late Wilbert Starkey and Pansy Mae Shuman Starkey.

Connie is survived by her husband of 30 years, William Hobson; 5 children, Melissa Buchanan of Rymer, Melody Martin of Farmington, Aaron Martin and wife Kim of Whitehall, Fairmont, LeAnn Plumlee and husband Steve at Chattanooga, Tenn., and Jeremy Hobson and wife Shania of Mannington; 12 grandchildren, Gabrielle Buchanan, Jimmy Buchanan, Heather Buchanan, Siana Berry, Brady Berry, Trenton Hobson, Trevor Hobson, Landon Martin, Hannah Petracca, Jenna Petracca, Riley Bellamy and Charlie Bellamy; 5 siblings, Wilma Wilson of Mannington, Ronnie Starkey and wife Kandy of Wheeling, Rosemary Snodgrass and husband Sam of Rymer, Kathy Dobbs and husband Jay of Waxhall, SC and Steve Starkey of Rymer; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her stepfather, Carl Starkey; a brother, Drexel “Bud” Starkey; 2 nieces, Heather Gay Hitt-George and Leah Law; 2 sons, Ronald Wayne and Eric Shawn, who died in infancy.

Connie was a member of the Rymer United Methodist Church. She loved to sing and her family performed as the Starkey Family, singing at various venues. She worked at Fairmont General Hospital for 14 years prior to retirement. She loved her dog Mia. She was an accomplished writer, writing many poems and songs. She also enjoyed crocheting. She collected and loved her angels. Connie was always concerned more about others than herself. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be loved and missed by all.

Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 2-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2014 in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Harry Holbert officiating.
