Edna Mae Thomas, age 93, of Metz, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Tygart Center Nursing Home in Fairmont. She was born December 13, 1923 at Rachel, WV, a daughter of the late Eli Spencer Villers and Rosa May Leasure Villers.
She is survived by 2 brothers, Grover “Tom” Villers of Metz and James “Jim” Russell Villers of Washington, PA; a sister, Erma B. Prather of Galix, VA; 2 brothers-in-law, Gerald Thomas and Paul Thomas, both of Claysville, PA; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Owen Thomas who died on June 9, 2004; a daughter, Patricia A. Boles and son-in-law, Bobby Boles; 4 sisters, Opal Bobbert, Ethel Anderson, Goldie Marie Villers and Marion Louise Villers; 3 brothers, Charles Villers, William Ray Villers and Harry Earl Villers.
Edna attended the Zion Assembly Church of God in Idamay. She retired from Westinghouse in 1982 with at least 30+ years of service. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing, and also traveling with Thomas Trio and her husband. She loved taking care of the love of her life, her dog Toby.
The family would like to thank Genesis at Tygart Center for their patience and kindness in her stay there and in her last days of her life, Amedysis Hospice.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St, Mannington, on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, July 14 at 1:00pm with Pastor Zachary Snyder officiating. Interment will be at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. I enjoyed working with the Thomas Trio in the early 1970's along is Ike Thomas Edna's brother in law and brother to her late husband "Owen". We remember brothers Floyd and Paul and others in the Thomas family including Edna's father in law. The Thomas family were instrumental in my dad, George W. Pyle's early ministry in the Fairmont and Morgantown/Mount Morris Pa. We visited once at East Finley PA. Our family were very good friends with the Thomas families. We send our condolences to all! Rose and family, you know I love each and everyone of you. I will definitely miss taking care of Edna. And hearing her sing, play the piano, and even the guitar. What a blessed soul, now she is rejoined with GOD, her daughter,husband , and dear little Toby. Sending my prayers and love.
