Gary Lewis Fluharty, 75 of Mannington, WV passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. He was born April 30, 1939 at Metz, WV, a son of the late Harry Clyde Fluharty and Doris Isabel Allen Fluharty.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Brenda Holbert Fluharty; 4 children, Jeff Fluharty and wife Wendy of Farmington; Dantia Nicholson and husband Kenny of Mannington, Jim Efaw and wife Michelle of Mannington, and Richard Efaw and wife Bashtlee of Mannington; 14 grandchildren, Carmen Fluharty, Michael and Clarissa Nicholson, Destiny Nicholson, Tiffany and JD DeVaul, Austin Nicholson, Sabrina Lee and Kris, Isaac Efaw, Damien Sawyers, Caitlyn Lancaster, Ryan Moore, Kenny Lancaster, Sheyann Lancaster, Jacob Lancaster, Nicole Efaw; 3 great-grandchildren, Gabe Lee, Aubree Nicholson and Bryant Nicholson; 2 nephews, Scott Matheny and Mike Matheny, both from Tennessee; 2 uncles, Wayne Fluharty of Fairmont and Thomas Fluharty of Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Matheny, and several aunts and uncles.

Gary was a coal miner for 37 years having worked for Consolidation Coal Co., Northern Division, as a boss. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as doing yard work, especially mowing his yard.

Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11am in the funeral home with Evangelist Dr. Michael P. Reese officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. So very sorry Brenda, Gary and I were close before school, then 1st through high school and even some college together.---I'm also sorry that I cannot make Wednesday or Thursday due to pre-arrangements that I cannot change, and please believe I tried.---You also must know that if Georgie or I can do anything we are as close as the telephone.--------------Skitz
