Hazel Kathlene Parker, age 89, of Mannington, WV, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 at her residence. She was born August 28, 1926 at Glade Fork Rd in Joetown, WV, a daughter of the late Lottie Mike.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Tina and Kevin Kellar of Joetown, and Tammy and Dahr Tanoury of Raleigh, NC; a great-grandchild, Amber and Frank McElwain of Enterprise, WV; a great-great-grandchild, Mackenzie Marie McElwain; a daughter-in-law, Linda Parker and Edward Martin of Whetstone; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Scritchfield of Monumental; a nephew, Bill Scritchfield of NC and a niece, Dorothy Scritchfield of PA; a step-nephew, Kurt Helgeson of Llewellyn; a special friend, Pearl Sturms of Bingamon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Kermit C. Parker who died in 1972, a son, Kermit W. “Bill” Parker, a brother, Ralph Mike, and a sister, Margaret Strawer.
Hazel previously worked at the Drapery Factory in Mannington. She attended the Charity Baptist Church in Oakdale. She enjoyed quilting, fishing and spending time with McKenzie. She also enjoyed going to the Senior Center and making baskets with her great niece, Helen Efaw.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St, Mannington, WV on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 1-9pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 1pm with Pastor Dan Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Monumental Cemetery.
