Helen Theresa Wilson, age 94, Mannington, WV, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at her residence.  She was born February 7, 1922 in Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Samuel Shaluta and Mary Popovich Shaluta.

She is survived by her 2 sons, James E. Wilson and wife Lynn of Cabins, WV and Samuel L. Wilson and wife Arlene of Mannington, WV; 5 grandchildren, Danica Rubenstein, Kara Jo Hunter, Johnathan David Wilson, Chasity Wilson and Shanna Wilson; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband James Elmo Wilson who died on January 30, 1992; a brother, Samuel Shaluta; and a sister, Vicki Marsh.

Helen was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mannington.  She helped at the Mannington Food Pantry, Celenes in Cumberland, and the Drapery Factor in Mannington.  She enjoyed working in her flower garden and sewing.  She also enjoyed cooking and baking.  She was a graduate of Thomas High School in Thomas as a Salutatorian.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, Mannington, WV on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 2-8pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 10am at St. Patrick’s Church with Father Vincy Illekcal officiating.   The family will then travel and meet at the Garrett County Memorial Gardens in Oakland, MD for gravesides services beginning at 2pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mannington Church of Christ, c/o the African Mission Work.  Online condolences may be left at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com
