Jodie Ellen Smith, age 40 of Parkview Apartments, Mannington, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at her residence. She was born July 15, 1974 at Steubenville OH, the daughter of Margaret Miller Williams and Thomas Williams of Seven Pines and the late Ronald E. Tatgenhorst.

In addition to her mother and step-father, she is survived by a son, Anthony Robert Smith and his significant other, Payton Lisa Dixon of Bloomingdale OH and a daughter, Bobbi Jo Smith of Mannington; two sisters, Bridget Lynn Thrush of Mannington and Melissa M. Voelker of Seven Pines; a brother, Ronald Tatgenhorst of Byesville OH; her fiance’ Thomas Harris, Jr. of Lewisburg TN; an uncle, George V. Miller, of Salesville OH; an aunt, Mary Piatt, Scio, OH; maternal grandparents, George R. Miller and Mary Miller of Bloomingdale OH and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Chuck and Gwendolyn Tatgenhorst and great-grandfather, Harry Oakley Miller.

Jodie was a graduate of Indian Creek High School in Wintersville OH. She enjoyed doing needle-point, talking on the phone, watching TV and country music. She helped at concession stands at the Mannington District Fair. She loved her angels, was Christian by faith and a member of the Seven Pines Church. She loved raising her children, loved her siblings very much, and helping others before herself. She enjoyed sports and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home at 1:30 pm with Pastor Bill Coon officiating. Burial will be at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
