John Edward Wright, Jr., 55, of Mannington, WV, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at his sister, Patricia Reynolds, residence on Flaggy Meadow Road, Mannington, WV. He was born January 10, 1959 at Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late John Edward Wright, Sr. and Ruth Lee Parker Wright.

John is survived by two sisters, Patricia Reynolds and husband Lawrence of Mannington and Janis Wright of Berkley, Michigan; one brother, James Edward Wright of Mannington and his former wife, Jean Frame Wright of Grant Town, WV; his companion of 33 years, Sherry Stevens of Mannington and her father, David Stevens of Hazel Park, Michigan; 3 nieces, Mrs. Jerry (Kimberly Lane) Cottrell of Fairview, Cindy Kaye of Farmington, Michigan and Christine Wright of Farmington, Michigan; 2 nephews, Tony Lee Lowry of Mannington, WV and Tim Wright of Grant Town, WV; as well as many aunts and uncles and great-nephews and great-nieces and great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one son, John Edward “Bunky” Wright III, who died June 10, 2009.

John loved 4-wheel truck driving, dirt bike racing and enjoyed watching his niece, Kimberly go “mud-bogging”. He loved helping other as he was a very giving man. He loved horses and the outdoors and hunting. His enjoyed listening to old-time rock-n-roll. John had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior in the last year. He was an auto-body man and worked alongside his brother Jim and his sister Janis.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date and will be published at in the paper at that time. Per John’s request, cremation was his choice of final method of disposition. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV is in charge of the arrangements. Sorry about your loss. I knew John and Bucky back in 1982 and was also good friends with John's mom Ruth. I was sending this to find out what happened to John as well as Bucky. Thanks. Tell Janis and Pat that Marj says hi.
