Martha Genevieve Keezee, age 92 of Mannington, WV, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born July 14, 1923 at Plum Run, WV, a daughter of the late William “Lee” Cross and Minnie Myrtle Hess Cross.

She is survived by 4 children, Howard Edward Keezee and wife Annette of Fairmont, Judith Ann Joy and husband Dale of Cumberland, Maryland, Janice Kay Toothman and husband Ron of Fairmont, WV, and James Michael Keezee of Plum Run; 6 grandchildren, Michael Keezee, Robert Keezee, Buck Joy, Rose Joy, Jessie Baker and Thomas Toothman; 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband Monroe Howard Keezee who died January 6, 1981, and 4 siblings, Claude Cross, Jesse Cross, Laura Cross Napalo and Lucille Cross.

Martha was employed at Drapery Factory in Mannington, was a nurse’s aide for Fairmont General Hospital for 11 years having rocked a lot of little babies in the nursery, and also was a caretaker for an older lady. She was a Baptist by Faith. She enjoyed working in her garden and could grow a good mess of beans. She also enjoyed quilting. She took care of everybody. She could sing and play piano when she was able too. She loved shopping and was very sociable woman.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 1pm with Pastor Larry Kincell officiatting. Interment will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. So very sorry to hear of Martha's passing. My condolences to the family. I had the privilege of working with Martha while I was Assoc Nurse Mgr in the Emer Dept about 28 years. What a delightful lady. Hopefully her final days were peaceful. She leaves a wonderful legacy.

I remember Genevieve and Monroe walking up to visit with my parents when I was a child. They would sit and talk on the porch. I believe the last time I saw and talked with Genevieve was at the Plum Run fair many years ago. I remember her so well....she was a very pleasant lady. So sorry for your loss.
