Mary Margaret (Babydoll) Gonzales was daughter of the late Edward Gonzales and Susan Elliott Gonzales of Weirton WV. She was born on February 26, 1954 in Fairmont WV. She was currently residing in Aliquippa PA with her fiancé Dr. Gary Hanson, who died with her in a house fire on April 5, 2016. She formerly had resided in Mannington WV and Fairmont WV.

She graduated from Weir High in 1972 and from WV Wesleyan College in 1977 with a BSN in nursing. She worked as an RN at UPMC Pittsburgh, Fairmont General Hospital for 37 years and most recently at Weirton Medical Center. She was catholic by faith.

She is survived by son Michael Sturm of Weirton WV and her mother Susan Gonzales, also of Weirton. Siblings Cindy Morris (Doug) of Fairmont WV, Sara (David) Gonzales Locke of Point Marion PA, Ed (Debbie) Gonzales of Danville OH, Bonnie (Bill) Boyd of Minerva OH, John (Sue) Gonzales of Huntersville NC, Charlie Gonzales (Cheryl) of Dearborn MI and James (Jo Jo) Gonzales of Fairmont WV.

Nieces and Nephews Pamela and Lea Morris, Toni(Wes) Shriver, Shelby, Joseph and Austin Gonzales, Victoria and Josh Boyd, Aaron, Erika and Haley Gonzales, Ethan and Gabriella Gonzales and Gracie, Georgia and Gia Gonzales, and several great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV from 2 to 9 pm on Friday April 8, and on Saturday April 9 from 1 to 5 at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home in Weirton WV. In lieu of flowers charitable contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Fairmont Regional Medical Center Volunteer Association.
