Mary Jane Wright Pethtel Hendershot, 89, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at her residence. She was born July 28, 1924 in Marion Co., WV, a daughter of the late Sherman Wright and Estella A. Wildman Wright.
Mary is survived by 2 daughters, Katherine Poling and husband Kenneth, West Milford and Mae Pethtel and companion Jimmy of Pottstown, PA; one son, Harry Thomas of Dover, OH; one step-daughter, Elaine Hendershot of Steubenville, OH; 8 grandchildren, Marilyn Coleman and husband Stanley of Lost Creek, Stanley Poling and wife Carrie of West Milford, Kevin Pethtel of PA, Matthew Pethtel and wife Colleen of PA, Tracey Pethtel and wife Denise of PA, Mark Pethtel and wife ? of Dundee, OH, Christine Carey and husband Danny of PA, Mary Pethtel and companion Eddie of PA; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry Wright and wife Tillie of Littleton, WV and one sister, Hazel Hendershot of Steubenville, OH; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas Milton Pethtel and William Wayne Hendershot; one grandson, Ray Pethtel; 3 sons, Robert, Albert and Marion Pethtel; one sister, Maber Barker; one brother, Kenneth Wright and one half-brother, George Wright.
Mary loved to quilting and embroidery, and had make quilts for every member of her family and many more people. She was a homemaker and had devoted her life to raising her family. She was a Christian by faith.
Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Richard Fluharty officiating.
