Roger Lee Carroll, 65 of Lumberport, WV passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born May 24, 1949 at Francis Mines, WV, a son of the late Rev. Robert Carroll and Geneva Reed Carroll.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Lavernia White Carroll of Lumberport, WV; 4 children, Donna Mayle and husband James of Salem, Samantha Snyder and husband Sean of Wallace, Crystal Copen and husband Roger of Lumberport and Roger Carroll, Jr. and wife Paula of Lumberport; Carla Goldsmith of Shinnston, who was like a daughter to Roger; 18 grandchildren, Charles Gill, Dakota Gill, Maverick Mayle, Rogetta Mayle, Megan Goldsmith, Faye Carroll, Michelle Tallman, Kaitlyn and Landon and Hunter Carroll, Brooklyn and Kirk Ferrill, James Swiger, Cameron and Ashton and Brenton and Destiny Snyder, and Jacqueline Carroll of Clarksburg; 3 great-grandchildren on the way; a best friend, Alfred Cozad of Gypsy; seven brothers, James Carroll, Charles Carroll, Thomas Carroll, David Carroll, Brian Carroll, John Carroll, and Robert Carroll; four sisters, Barbara Cozad, Helen Carroll, Sandy Carroll, and Patricia Prangler; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Terry Carroll and Patrick Carroll.

Roger was a United States Army Veteran having served from 1967 to 1969. He worked at Selby’s Signs in Clarksburg. He enjoyed baseball with his children and his hobbies were baseball cards and guns. He also enjoyed building birdhouses, churches and houses.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 10:30-11:30am with funeral services beginning at 11:30am with Pastor Alford Duncan officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the United States Army and the Marion County Veterans Council. Burial will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton.
