Russell H. Wright, age 81, of Smithfield, WV died Friday, June 26, 2015, at his residence. He was born March 9, 1934 in White Oak, WV the son of the late Howard Clinton and Helen Marie Ensminger Wright.

He is survived by a daughter, Lucy Willie and husband Wayne of Smithfield, WV; 3 grandchildren, Wayne Willie II and wife Caren of Smithfield, Matthew Willie of Smithfield and Meagan Peek and husband Josh of Smithfield; 8 great-grandchildren, Emilee Owens of Clarksburg, Malachi Haught, Ruthie Haught, Matty Willie, Jozlyn Willie and Eliza Willie, all of Smithfield, Lacie Peek of Junior, WV and Juztice Willie of Smithfield; his dog, Butterball (aka: Tippy).

In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ester Price Wright on August 13, 2002.

Russell worked at Marion Motors for 15 years as well as the Marion County Vo-Tech for 22 years as an automobile instructor. He attended WVTech in Montgomery. He was Baptist by Faith and was a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington, Lowman Baptist in Pine Grove and Cornerstone Baptist in Smithfield.

Russell enjoyed watching his great-grandchildren. He was always telling his daughter Lucy to behave herself. He also enjoyed watching his great-grandchildren riding their 4-wheelers in the yard. He loved farming for over 50 years and enjoyed working in the hay fields. He was well loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St. Mannington on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 2-8:00pm during which the casket will remain closed. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 1:00pm with Pastor Leroy Haught officiating. Burial will follow at the Rymer Cemetery.
