Sarah Snowball Tatar Toothman, age 90, of Plum Run, Mannington, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Pierpont Center in Fairmont. She was born March 24, 1927 at Chatham Hill, Farmington, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph Valentine Tatar and Dorothy Snowball Beuglass Tatar.
Susan is survived by her son, Rick Toothman of Plum Run; a granddaughter, Rebecca “Becky” Felser and husband Jason of Pittsburgh, PA; 2 nieces, Linda Hoffman of OH and Amy Tilly of AZ; 2 nephews, Phillip Tatar of FL and David Tatar of OH. Susan was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Willie Toothman, who died on November 10, 2017; her daughter Susan Rieser who died on February 6, 2018; and her brother, Joseph Tatar and wife Helen Gouzd.
Sarah was married on June 15, 1946 to Willie in Fairmont. She enjoyed crafts and loved animals.
Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements. There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral services. Cremation was Sarah’s choice for final disposition. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com.

My grandma was an amazing and remarkable woman. Thank you to everyone who cared greatly about her and loved her dearly. I lost both my mom and my grandma today but they are both at peace now and together with my grandpa and others who went before them. Thank you to everyone who has helped my family and to those who have supported us especially over the last several months as we endured so many hardships all at once. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
