William "Winnie" Beavan

William “Winnie” Beavan, age 63, of Mods Run, Mannington, WV, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 7, 2017 after a long illness at Ruby Memorial Hospital . He was born July 8, 1954 at Fairmont, WV, a son of Charlotte Burhts Beavan of Mods Run and the late Frank Beavan, Sr.

Winnie was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington. He was active in organizing the yearly Farmington Homecomings. Before becoming disabled, he had worked at Fairmont General Hospital.

In addition to his mother Charlotte, Winnie is survived by two brothers and three sisters, Frank and wife Dee Beavan of Mods Run, Liz Duvall of Farmington, David and wife Sue Beavan of Four States, Mary Riley of Masontown and Dorothy Lint of Mods Run. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Beavan, Sr.

Winnie enjoyed reading his Bible, which went with him to every hospital visit. He had an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and Business. He was employed at Fairmont General Hospital in Housekeeping and also had worked at the Garden Fresh in Mannington. He enjoyed learning about his family’s genealogy. He also enjoyed the Steelers games as well as WVU’s football and basketball games.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St, Mannington, on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 11:00am with Pastor Lee Bowman officiating. Interment will be at Viewpoint Cemetery.
