Alan Dewayne Gump, age 52 of Mannington, WV passed away on December 14, 2020 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born July 25, 1968 at Champaign-Urbana, IL, a son of the late Albert Dale Gump and Sarah Lou Whiteman Gump.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Judith Ann Scott Gump; three children, Matthew (Miranda) Gump of Mannington, James Michael Gump of Mannington, and Julie Ann Gump of Mannington; two grandchildren, Mason and Madelyne Gump; a brother, Tony Von Gump of Folsom, WV, and a sister, Lori (Jeffery) Gump Glover of Mannington with whom he resided; two aunts, Mary Alice (Pete) Coen of Marion, IN, and Wilma Christner of Rachel; a lifelong friend, Pete Goodrich of Rymer; his mother-in-law, Judy Scott of Mannington; a niece, Tiffany Gump and a nephew, Andy Gump.
In addition to his parents, Alan is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Gump; an aunt, Jean and Mike Linville; and an uncle, Robert Gump.
Alan was an Over The Road truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and riding 4-wheelers. He also enjoyed hanging out with Bill and Pete.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 11:00am in the funeral home with Michelle Dye officiating. Interment will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. As we continue to recognize attending services during the Covid-19 situation may not be in the best interest for some, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. Ron and I want to extend our condolences to the family of Alan Gump. We met him at the Fairmont Dialysis Clinic and got to know him through the past several years. He often spoke of his over the road trips. He has found peace now. The last few years have been rough for him.
