Ann Yvonne Cummins of Mannington, WV passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born March 4, 1936 near Mannington, a daughter of the late Harold and Feme Jackson Boyles. She was a graduate of Mannington High School, Class of 1954 and a graduate of the B.M. Spurr School of Practical Nursing in Glendale.

Ann was a member of the Bee Gum Methodist Church where she was an adult Sunday school teacher for many years and served in the church in many other capacities. She was also a member and past president of the Women’s Club of Mannington, a member of the Metz CEOs Club, and the Marion County League of Women Voters. She enjoyed singing, often in harmony with her sister, and was a member of the Bells of Harmony, a women’s barber shop group in Bonita Springs, FL where she and her late husband spend many years in their retirement. The couple married was for 63 years and were active and enthusiastic members of the Melody Seekers Round Dance Club and were avid square dancers since 1970. Ann and Jim enjoyed camping and traveled extensively having been in all 50 states and at least 20 countries.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband James “Jim”, a brother in infancy Charles “Jack” Boyles, her sister Gloria Boyles Morris and brother-in-law Albert Morris. She is survived by her son Roger of Colorado Springs, CO, her daughter Carol George of Mannington, two granddaughters, Courtney Cummins of Fairmont and Destiny Tennant of Mannington, four great-grandchildren, Gage, Tyson, Karli and Riot, many nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends, all of whom will miss her humility, her stubborn dedication to her core principles and her understated manner that belied an acerbic and sarcastic wit.

Family and friends will be received at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 2-4:00pm and 6-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 in the funeral home beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Dave Yanero officiating. Interment will follow at the Bee Gum Cemetery.
