Arthur Gordon Myers Jr., age 71 of Plum Run, WV passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center. He was born May 18, 1953 in Fairmont, WV, son to the late Arthur and Patricia (Ratliff) Myers. Also preceding him in death was his infant sister Marcella Jane, and his brother-in-law Kenneth Stevens.
Gordon graduated from Farmington High School in 1971 and worked for Owens-Illinois for 8 years. He then worked for and retired from the Marion County Board of Education after 34 years of service.
Gordon is survived by two sisters, Sharon Stevens of Whetstone and Tammy Myers of Plum Run, and three aunts, Doris Lambert of Grafton, Helen Ashcraft of Clarksburg, and Charlotte Ratliff of Lerna, Illinois.
Gordon will be sadly missed by his family, friends and his dog “Thunder” that he called his puppy and spoiled on a daily basis. The family would like to thank the staff at the Fairmont Regional Medical Center for the excellent care they gave Gordon while he was a patient there.
In honoring Gordon’s wishes, there will be no funeral home visitation or funeral services. His final resting place will be at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.

Gordon was an outstanding custodian at Rivesville Elementary/Middle School for several years. He was a friend to many students and teachers. May he be at peace with his Heavenly Father.
