Barbara Ellen Hayes, age 84 of Mannington, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Morgantown Heights Nursing Home. She was born April 25, 1942 in Mobley, WV, the daughter of the late Homer Mercer and Hazel Kendall Mercer.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Lee Hayes, her daughter Tammy Jean Sterns of Fairview, five sisters, Pauline Wise, Peggy Adams, Penny Cumberlidge, Eleanor Lewis and Darla Barlett, her granddaughter Graceland Davis, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death three sisters, Lorena Pyles, Ethel Lewis and Bertha Anderson, three brothers, Frank Mercer, Thomas Mercer and Edward Mercer, and her son Richard Allen Hayes.
Barbara loved the Lord and her family very much!
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Barbara will be laid to rest at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
