Betty E. Burton, 91 of Farmington, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior December 11, 2011. She was born April 2, 1920 in Bellwood, PA, daughter of the late Harry and Greta Miller Endress. Surviving are her four children, David and Twila Burton of Maysville, WV, Sharon and Lee Lilly of Geneva, OH, J. Phillip and Rebecca Burton of Fairmont WV, and Judy and Denver Boggess of Farmington WV. She is also survived by nine grandsons, David Jr. and companion Laura Geobel and Mike Burton both of Howell NJ, Morgan and Jessica Basagic of Franklin, WV, Neil and Kim Basagic of Petersburg, WV, Scott and Stacy Lilly of Philadelphia, PA, Shannon and Ashley Lilly of Charlotte, NC, Jason Burton of St. Louis, MO, Benjamin Burton of Louisville, KY, and Brent Boggess of Clarksburg, WV. She has one granddaughter, Sherri and Jeff Miller of Vermillion, Ohio. Also surviving are seven great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Surviving also are two brothers, Charles and Richard Endress both of Bellwood, PA, two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Blandsburg PA, and Helen Miller of Carlisle, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev Calvin S. Burton, and one daughter, Lois Ann. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Harry Jr Endress, Melvin “Gene” Endress and sisters, Geraldine Klopp, Donna Reimert, and Evelyn “Mert” Buchanan. Also preceding her was a grandson, Seth Burton and granddaughter, Marisa Mayle.
Betty graduated from Philadelphia Bible College in 1941. She served faithfully as a home missionary under Baptist Mid Missions along with her husband, Rev. Calvin Burton in WV for over 60 years.
Viewing will be held from 3-8 PM on Tuesday, December 13, at the Masters Funeral Home in Mannington. Visitation will continue at 10 AM, Wednesday, December 14th with the funeral to follow at 11 AM with Pastor Dave Huckins of Monongah Baptist Church of which she was a member. Interment will be at the View Point Cemetery in Rachel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monongah Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
