Blennie “Katy” Stafford

Blennie Kay ‘Katy” Stafford, 76, of Mannington, WV peacefully passed from this life on October 18th following a sudden illness. Katy was born on July 5th 1950 in Fairview, WV the youngest daughter of James and Wilma Fox.

She graduated in 1968 from Fairview High School. Shortly after, she met and married her husband (of 55 years) Lenny Stafford. They share one daughter, Julie Kincaid.

Katy led a vibrant life, and always met everyone with a smile. Her work ethic was second to none, and there was never a task too large for her to tackle. She enjoyed working as a teller at First Exchange Bank, and was very involved in the daily operation of Sidetracked. She also had her own shoe store in Mannington, and ultimately was hired as director of the North Marion Senior Center. The position really allowed her personality to shine through, and she took pride in serving the senior citizens of Marion County. She also loved to sing, and had a beautiful voice that we’ll never forget.

After retiring in 2012, Katy’s focus shifted more toward painting, family events, home improvements and decor, and shopping. She never missed an opportunity for a shopping trip or a good bargain. More than anything, she loved her entire family, and spending time with them all.

Katy was preceded in death by her parents, and four siblings. James Fox, Kenneth Fox, Rowena Lowe, and Jeanie Sine.

She is survived by her loving husband Lenny, daughter Julie (Jack) Kincaid, granddaughter Kayleigh (Shane) Morgan, grandson Garrett Thorne, and great-granddaughter Isabelle Morgan. Katy is also survived by one sister, Patricia Green and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Please do something nice for someone and expect nothing in return, and think of Katy when you do it. She touched so many lives, and to know her, was to love her. The light she brought to this world will now shine eternally.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Masters Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
