Connie Kuhn

Connie Darlene Kuhn, 67, of Farmington, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.  She was born September 5, 1946 at Farmington, WV a daughter of the late John Audrey and Lillian Maxine Rinehart Kuhn.

Connie was Methodist by faith, being a member of the East Run Methodist Church until it closed in 1988.  She became a member of the Downs Methodist Church, where she loved singing in the choir and was very involved with “movie night”.  At her death, she had served as the Church’s Superintendent for over twenty years.  She was a member of the North Marion Senior Red Hatters of Mannington for nine years.

Connie retired from the Marion County Board of Education as a custodian at North Marion High School, having been a custodian at various schools in Marion County throughout her working years.  She was a member of the Marion County Association of Retired School Employees and the WV Association of Retired School Employees.  She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary No. 629 in Fairmont. 

Connie was an avid reader and enjoyed watching NCIS, and West Virginia Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Steelers football.  She enjoyed doing crosswords and Sudoku puzzles and loved to sing at Church.  Two of her favorite things in this world were Colasessano’s Pizza and anything that came in red velvet.  She enjoyed spending time with friends at the North Marion Senior Center in Mannington, where she had participated in the “Belles and Gents” singing group, and also spending time with her family.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Kuhn and a nephew, Michael J. Kuhn, both of Farmington; a niece, Heather R. Haller and husband, Johnny Haller, of Meadowbrook; and two great-nieces, Mikaela Rose Fluharty and Delaney Grace Haller, both of Meadowbrook, whom she loved dearly.  She is also survived by numerous cousins, family, and friends who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Kenneth Kuhn; a sister, Peggy Lou Kuhn, both of Farmington; two uncles, Ray Kuhn of Eldora, and Victor Kenneth Rinehart of Fairmont, and her beloved cat, Trouble Ann.

Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m.  Funera services will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 in the fuenral home at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor David Jones officiating.   Burial will follow in Viewpoint Cemetery, Rachel, WV.  On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com
