Dallas Leo Toothman Sr., 86 of Farmington, WV, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at Fairmont General Hospital. He was born December 15, 1924 at East Run, Farmington, WV a son of the late Dana Ross and Essie Mae Efaw Toothman.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bessie Menefee Toothman; one son, Dallas Toothman Jr. of Farmington, WV; a sister-in-law, Minnie Jane Leach Toothman of Fairmont and several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Victor Toothman, Melvin Ross Toothman and a sister, Geneva Toothman.
Mr. Toothman retired from Consolidation Coal Company, Loveridge Mine #22, Flat Run Portal on October 11, 1982. He previously worked at the Farmington #9 Mine and the Jordan Mine. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in Europe. He was an avid Washington Redskin fan. He also enjoyed Nascar and gardening.
The family would like to thank Dr. G. Patel, Dr. P. Allapat, Dr. Girguis and the nurses at Fairmont General Hospital on 3A for their loving care and concern during Mr. Toothman’s illness.
Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 noon. The funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Evangelist Randy Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
