
David Earl Mafield, age 57 of Metz, WV passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Fairmont Medical Center. He was born October 10, 1964 at Miami, FL, the son of Juanita V. Hayes Mafield of Mannington and the late Warren Eugene “Gene” Mafield who died May 7, 2008.
He is survived by two children, Harmony Mafield and significant Shane Thomas of Morgantown and Wesley Mafield of Mannington, his three grandchildren, Dimitri Mafield, Aviana Thomas and Phoebe Thomas, and his dog Precious. He is also survived by his three siblings, Doug Mafield of Dents Run, Patricia Sheppard of Metz, and Keith and Jane Mafield of Morgantown; his sister-in-law, Debbie K. Mafield of Monongah; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and many close friends that he helped along the way.
In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Donald Mafield and Charles Glen Mafield, and a sister-in-law, Debra J. Mafield.
David was an avid mechanic who enjoyed collecting “junk” with his best friend Bobby Byard with whom he also enjoyed going fishing together. He was selfless and was always interested in helping people. He was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church in Mannington. He had previously worked for North Pole Ice, Leezers Auto and Fishers, and was an owner of Papa Bears Restaurant in Fairmont. He was member of the Mannington Moose Lodge #9 and cooked there. He also helped with parking at the Mannington Fair every year. He lived to take care of his children, grandchildren and his family!
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 11:00am to 4:00pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 4:00pm. Cremation has been chosen as the final method of disposition. Per the request of the family, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.

We are so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He will be missed. He was such a sweet fellow and always had a smile and a helping hand for all.
I know I am a little late. I am surely gonna miss that big smile everytime we ran into each other especially when you were parking at the fair. I knew you from church to but I was moving around the time you became a member. Fly high my friend say hi to dad and Nanny Willavene you called her aunt Will💕 My prayers continue to go out to all who loved this big hearted man.
