Delbert Teagarden

Delbert Clair Teagarden, 82, of Evans Run, Mannington, WV, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at his residence.  He was born May 23, 1931 in Earnshaw, WV, son of the late Barney Teagarden and Margaret Stewart Teagarden.

 

Delbert is survived by 2 sons, Raymond and Vickie Teagarden of Evans Run, and Conley Teagarden of Evans Run, and a daughter, Rita and Keith Powell of Brink.  He is also survived by 4 grandsons, Raymond Lee Teagarden, Christopher Teagarden, Lindsay Powell and Timothy Hibbs; 3 granddaughters, Michele Teagarden, P.J. Jenkins and Jessica Bryan; 14 great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Delbert was preceded in death by his wife Betty Zane Rice Teagarden who died in December 2004; 2 daughters, Ethel Teagarden and Loretta Hibbs; 4 infants; 2 brothers and 6 sisters.  He was the last member of his family of 9 children.

 

Delbert was a beloved father and grandfather and a friend to many.  He loved horses and his dogs.  He was a lifelong farmer.

 

The family would like to thank the Hospice Care workers who helped care for Delbert, which included Holly, Robin, Michele, Jill and Vickie.

 

Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 4 - 9:00 p.m. and also on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the Carpenter Cemetery.  On-line condolences may be left at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com
