Dellas Dewayne “Giz” Sickles, 60 of Flat Run Road, Mannington, WV passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Metz, WV. He was born January 10, 1950 at Mannington, WV a son of the Dellis “Shorty” Sickles of Glover Gap and the late Lucinda Clarinda Smith Sickles.
Giz is survived by his wife, Charlotte Louise Hostuttler Sickles; a son, Dellis “DL” Sickles of Metz and fiancé, Wendy S. Takano; a daughter, Kristina Gabor and her husband Martin of Farmington; one granddaughter, Emily Rose “Rosie” Gabor. Also surviving are 5 brothers-in-law, Eddie Hostuttler and wife Debbie of Mannington, Mark Hostuttler and wife Theresa of WV, Mike Hostuttler of Kentucky, Timothy Jones of Fairmont and James Jones of Fairmont; one sister-in-law, Janet Jones of Metz; several nieces and nephews; 3 step-granddaughters, Mika, Chisa and Kaya of Washington State.
Giz was retired from Industrial Contracting in Fairmont. He enjoyed NASCAR as well as the outdoors. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He graduated from Mannington High School in 1967. He attended Fairmont Business College.
Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Saturday, July 10 from 7-9 P.M. and on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 2-9 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Reverend Harry Holbert officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens. The U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the Marion County Military Veterans Council Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors at the Graveside.
