Dennis Ferman Jones, age 78 of Plum Run, West Virginia passed away Friday, September 11, 2026 at his residence following a long illness with his family by his side. He was born January 25, 1948 at Plum Run, the son of the late Docia Hamilton Jones and Albert Ferman Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverly Hillberry Jones; his two children, Angela Frye of Barrackville and Jason Jones of Plum Run; his grandchildren, Madison (Adam) Thorne, Alec Jones, Rya (JD) Smith, and Eden Frye; and two great-grandchildren, one due in November and Brogan Fetty. Dennis is also survived by his sister Donna Fluharty of Plum Run, and his sister-in-law Debbie Jones.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by two brothers, Dolan Toothman and Doug Jones; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Toothman and Janet Jones; his brother-in-law Alan Fluharty; and his son-in-law Garon Frye.

Dennis was a Veteran having served in the United States Army in Korea. He was previously employed by FMC and EIMCO of Fairmont. He later became self-employed as a general contractor. Dennis enjoyed hunting along with Jason and Alec and he also hunter with a special friend David Price. He especially enjoyed time at the cabin on the hill above his sister’s house. He and his three friends maintained the cabin for the last twenty years.

Dennis graduated from Farmington High School Class of 1965 and then attended Fairmont State University for two and half years. He loves spending time with his family and friends on their camping trips over the years. He liked staying at home and maintaining his house and the grounds along with his garden every year. Dennis especially enjoyed sitting in his garage and when friends would stop by to share stories and his wine. He often gave his wine for weddings and friends. Dennis was a member of the Mannington Church of Christ.

The family would like to give their appreciation to Hospice Care and to Scott and Donna.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington on Monday, September 14, 2026 from 3-7:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 beginning at 10:30am with Evangelist Dr. Michael P. Reese and Evangelist Craig Matheny officiating. Interment will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery where Full Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army and the Marion County Veterans Council.
