
Donald Lee Carnes, Sr., age 63 of Mannington, WV passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born September 20, 1957 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Sidney Carnes and Algie Fern Sycks Carnes.
He is survived by his wife Vicky Carnes with whom he was soon to be married to for 40 years on Monday, March 29th; one son, Donald Lee Carnes, Jr and his wife Sara of Mannington; four grandchildren, Evan, Raiden, Liam and Emma Carnes; seven brothers, Tim (Carolyn) Carnes of Whetstone, Gerald (Ann) Carnes of Mannington, Jim (Mary) Carnes of Shinnston, Paul (Ann) Carnes of Charles Town, WV, Homer (Rose) Carnes of Mannington, Charles (Teddy) Carnes of Mannington, and Edward (Mary) Carnes of Akron, OH; one sister, Patty (Bob) Hostutler of Mannington; several nieces and nephews and cousins, Amanda (John) Hicks, Melissa (Dave) Rose, Christina (Chad) Smith, Beth (Tom) Liggett, Leann Hostutler, Shawn (Melissa) Carnes, Brenda Miller, Terri (Dennis) Sponaugle, Michele (Grey) Mirakian, Mara (Brian) Polinger, Jason Carnes, John (Joann) Carnes, Michael Bristo, Delberta McKenney, Diana (Paul) Miller, Sandy (Joe) Mikes, Teddy Carnes, and Corey Hostutler; his mother-in-law, Charlotte Lane; and brother-in-law, Larry Lane; and the Lane family.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hattie and Ted Sycks; six siblings, Bernard “Duty” Carnes, Sidney “Kip” Carnes, Gloria Eddy, Richard “Dick” Carnes, Judy Carnes, and Wilma McGinty.
Donald loved to go camping and fishing for bass. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved all of his family. He was retired from selling cars and was a Christian by Faith.
There will be no visitation or funeral services as direct cremation was chose as the final method of disposition. On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com. The final arrangements are being cared for by Masters Funeral Home in Mannington.
