Dorothy Pauline “Sis” Glasscock, age 78 of Barrackville, WV passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at her residence. She was born January 31, 1956 at Mannington, WV, a daughter of the late Henry Whiteman “Buck” Jones and Thelma May Floyd Jones.
She is survived by three children, Kevin (Karen) Glasscock of Barrackville, John (Sheila) Glasscock of Mannington, and Tammy (Daniel) Myers of Farmington, 12 grandchildren, Jennifer (Kenneth) Jones, Stephanie (Allen) Ragland, Tonya (Johnny) Myers, Nathan Glasscock, Heather Glasscock, Tiffany Mitchell and companion Jesse Tucker, and Sarah Ash and companion Jonathan Woertz, 15 great-grandchildren, Devony (Wylie) Ford, Kylee (Tyler) Kirby, Josie (Alex) Berube, Matthew Beveridge, Alex (Fern) Beveridge, Aaron Beveridge, Braden (Taylor) Nichols, Daniel Mitchell, Navaeh Tucker and Hannah Ash, and four great-great-grandchildren, Cecelia Beveridge, Leighton Ford, Asher Berube and Cole Nichols. Dorothy is also survived by three brothers, Donald (Linda) Jones of Fairmont, Walter Jones of Mannington, and Samuel Jones of Mustang, OK, a sister-in-law Gay Jones, her “god-son” Joey (Bethany) Slater of Mannington, several nieces and nephews, and her friend Carmen Feliciano of Barrackville.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Merle “Jake” Glasscock who died March 2, 2013, an infant child, her sister Florence, 4 brothers, Roy, Ronald, Richard and Robert, and 4 sisters-in-law, Shirley, Linda, Kay and Wilma.
Dorothy was a member of the Hampton Road Baptist Church in Fairmont. She enjoyed many many years of overseeing the Poultry Barn during the Mannington District Fair. She also enjoyed gardening and outside activities.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, February 23, 2024 beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Josh Carlisle officiating. Interment will follow at Huey and Thorne Cemetery.
