Forrest Junior Stout, age 92, of Smithfield, West Virginia, and having been a resident of at Clarksburg Rehab and Nursing Facility for four years, passed away at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport on Friday, March 31, 2023. He was born June 8, 1930 at Smithfield, a son of the late Alex Stout and Clara Quinn Stout.
Forrest is survived by three sons, Michael (Tammy Adams) Stout, Eddie (Sandy) Stout, Raymond (Molly McKay) Stout, all of Smithfield, seven grandchildren, Trista, Sean, Austin, Letrianna, Heather, Russell and Abbie, and 5 great-grandchildren and one on the way, as well as several nieces and nephews. Forrest was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Daisy Jane Price Stout who passed away on December 27, 2009, several brothers and sisters preceded him in death as well.
Forrest retired from Consolidated Coal Company Blacksville #2 Mine after 30 ½ years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in The Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and he was protestant by faith.
Family and friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home in Mannington on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 2:30-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday 4, 2023 at 12:00 noon with Reverend Jerry Kuhens officiating. Burial will follow at the Hastings Cemetery with full Military Rites by The US Army and the Harrison County Veterans Council.
