Gary Dwaine Marteney, age 68, of Mannington, WV passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born February 25, 1950 at Fairview, WV, a son of the late Dave Marteney and Mary Casper Marteney.
Gary is survived by his wife Karen Rosalee Efaw Marteney, with whom he was married to for 46 years; 2 children, Brian (Heather) Marteney of Mannington and Denise (Chad) Everson of Bridgeport; 7 grandchildren, Kayla, Kirsten, Kaitlyn, Mariah, and Payton Marteney and Trinity and Azaria Everson; 5 brothers, Troy (Diane) Marteney of FL, Loye (Susie) Marteney of FL, John (Linda) Marteney of OH, Dave (Sue) Marteney of VA, and Robert Marteney of FL; one sister, Mary Stout of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one sister, Eileen Harris and a brother, Virgil Marteney.
Gary was coal miner having retired with 37 years at Federal #2 UMWA. He loved spending time with his 7 granddaughters. He enjoyed the outdoors and reading as well as his hummingbirds and helping others above his own needs.
Family and friends will be received at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00am with Pastor Lee Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Viewpoint Cemetery.
