Genevieve Mae Stout, age 88 of Plum Run Rd, Mannington, WV passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at her residence. She was born May 10, 1937 in Wadestown, WV, a daughter of the late Okey Crim and Maudie Bragg Crim.
She is survived by two daughters, Susie Long and her husband Danny of Mannington and Kay Sturm and her husband Jim of Metz, her daughter-in-law Becky Stout of Farmington, seven grandchildren, Jennifer Long, Chad Stout, Marcy Kalman, Joshua Sturm, Sammy Long, Cathy Straight and Mary Sturm, great-grandchildren, Preston Higginbotham, Chandler Higginbotham, Addison Sturm, Dylan Sturm, Cadence Straight, Aubrey Straight, Spencer Long, Evangeline Long, Paige Stout, Joshua Collins, Andrew O’Neil, Alex O’Neil, Ashley, Amanda, and Andrea, many great-great-grandchildren and also several nieces and nephews. Genevieve is also survived by her sister Lou Allison of Hundred and her brother Lester Crim of SC.
In addition to her parents, Genevieve was also preceded in death by her husband Paul Junior Stout whom she was married to for 63 years, two children, Clara Mae Stout and Clarence Stout, three grandsons, Danny Long, Cassidy Sturm and Jeremy Stout, one great-grandson Levi Stout, two sisters, Shirley Starsick and Bertha Barth, and her brother Dewain “Bucky” Crim.
Genevieve attended Farmington High School and then went to Clarksburg Beauty Academy graduating Class of 1977. She worked as a beautician for over 30 years. She also worked at Fairmont General Hospital as an aide and Fairmont State College as a custodian. She was a faithful long-standing member of the Hampton Road Baptist Church in Fairmont for 38 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, crocheting, quilting and crafts, and bowling in the Fairmont Bowling League for many years. Genevieve was a caregiver by heart and served many within her family as well as outside of her family and in her church.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 2-8:00pm and also at the Hampton Road Baptist Church in Fairmont on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 10-11:00am with funeral services beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Josh Carlisle and Pastor Lee Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Genevieve’s memory to the Hampton Road Baptist Church Building Project.
