Glen Stevens, 86 of Joetown Community, Mannington, WV, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born December 21, 1924 at Joe’s Run, Mannington, a son of the late Kinsey and Nellie Huffman Stevens.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Norma Jean Gump Stevens; three daughters and two sons, Maryann Stevens of Morgantown, Robert Glen Stevens and wife Loretta of Glade Fork, Joetown, Norma Louise Stevens of Joetown Community, Patrick Lee Stevens Sr. of Pleasant Valley, Fairmont and Janet C. Stevens of Joetown; 6 grandchildren, Terry Glen Stevens and wife Bobbie, Jenni Stevens, Patrick Lee Stevens Jr., Zachery Stevens, Abigail Smith and Katherine Smith; 2 step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, Bailey Bowman; 3 brothers, Charles Stevens, Junior Stevens and Kenneth Stevens, all of Mannington; one sister, Helen Uiselt of Wadsworth, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by one sister Edna Baker, one infant sister, Mary Stevens and one brother, George Stevens.
Glen worked for the West Virginia Dept. of Transportation, and after retiring in 1987, also worked at BJ Hueys and Paul Hawkins Sawmill. He enjoyed farming.
At the request of the Mr. Stevens, there will be no funeral home visitation or funeral services. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Elizabeth Mason Cemetery in Joetown.
