On Tuesday, March 29th, 2022, Goldie “Marie” Fluharty entered the gates of heaven shouting hallelujah. A devout Christian daughter of the late Albert and Selma Arnold Wilson, Marie married her soulmate Clinton R. Fluharty and they cherished 55 years together raising their family in Plum Run until his passing on Nov. 28, 2004.
Marie was a faithful servant and Baptist in faith, attending the Plum Run Baptist Church always sharing her testimony and prayers for her family near and far. She was a homemaker and a loving mother. Her memory will be forever cherished by her five surviving children and their families. Left to carry on her love and faith are three daughters, Diane Bell and her husband Denzil, Vonda Loudin, and Judy Hickman; her two sons, Simon Ray Fluharty and wife Nancy and Clinton Albert Fluharty and wife Shelly, all of Plum Run, WV.
She delighted in being a grandmother to her enormous family that included Beckie (Terry) Higgins, Valerie (Jon) Sanders, Angie (Bob) McKinney and Jason (Jodi) Bell; Shelley (Ed) Hopple, Jeanette (Rob) Stevens, and Troy Eddy; Kenny (Corrine) Hayes; Missy Carman, Simona (Matt) Carpenter and Erika (Brad) Wright; and Jeffrey (Mendi) Fluharty, Travis Fluharty and Tabitha (Bob) Fluharty. Also surviving are 33 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren with another Great-Great-Grandchild due in September.
She shared a special bond with her beloved siblings. Those who survived her include Sweet Pea, Evelyn Fluharty and brothers Eddie (Delma) Wilson, Albert (Opal) Wilson, Roger (Charlotte) Wilson and Jim (Crystal) Wilson and brother-in-law, Bill Frank. She is also survived by a vast number of nieces and nephews that affectionately called her “TeeTee”.
She was reunited at the gates of heaven by her parents and husband whom preceded her in death along with her in-laws, Simon and Maggie Mae Parker Fluharty, a grandson, Clinton Michael Hayes and a Great grandson, Matthew Eddy; son-in-laws, Jerry Loudin and Ernest Hickman; and two siblings, LeRoy and his wife Patsy Wilson and Ethel “Snooks” Frank and a brother-in-law, Jack Fluharty.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 1, 2022 beginning at 11:00am. Interment will follow at the CR Fluharty Cemetery in Plum Run. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Plum Run Baptist Church c/o Diane Bell, 11 Royal Rd., Mannington, WV 26582.
