Goldie R. Tapp, 89 of Fairmont, WV and formerly of Cleveland, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Pierpont Center in Fairmont. She was born April 7, 1921 at Flaggy Meadow, Mannington, WV a daughter of the late Igie Walter and Sadie Elizabeth Brown Tapp.
She is survived by one sister, Mildred Barr of Fredericksburg, VA and two nieces, Betty Cain of Fairmont, WV and Lena McMurray of Pittsburgh, PA; nephews, John Tapp of Massillon, Ohio, Frank Tapp of Mannington, WV, Albert and Gerry Tapp of Louisville, Ohio, Robert Tapp of Charlotte, NC, Fred Barr of Fredericksburg, VA, John Barr of Stephens City, VA, Jim and Loretta Tapp of Lawrenceville, Georgia and John and Paul Pike.
In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Charles Tapp Sr., Brooks Tapp, Cassell Tapp, Woodrow Tapp, Gertie Closser, Martha Pike, George Tapp, Lillie Mae Tapp and Corie Ethel Tapp; nieces and nephews, Charles Tapp Jr., Robert B. Tapp, Helen Tapp Rush, Barbara Tapp Moore, Rosemary Barr, Joyce Barr Bayuvick and Joan DeFazio.
Miss Tapp had lived in Cleveland, Ohio from 1950-2008. She performed domestic services for several families in the Cleveland Area.
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, cremation was chosen as the method of final disposition. Private inurnment will be made at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington is in charge of arrangements.
