Guy Richard Hunter, age 88 of Fairmont, WV passed away March 9, 2022 at the Madison Nursing and Rehab Center in Morgantown. He was born November 21, 1933 at Wheeling, WV a son of the late Guy Clarence Hunter and Ruth Minnie Shisler Hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Berneda Rose Cain Hunter; three children, Deborah Hunter of Middletown, Delaware, Daniel T. (Sybil) Hunter of Barrackville, and Donna Onderko of Fairmont; five grandchildren, Samantha Hunter of Locust Grove, VA, Alexander Hunter of Friendly, WV, First LT. Dylan Hunter (Abby) Onderko of Ogden, KS, Garrett (Racheal) Onderko of Fairmont, and Carson Onderko of Fairmont; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Guy was preceded in death by his brother, George Hunter.
Guy was a graduate of Mannington High School Class of 1952 as well as West Virginia University Class of 1959. He was a retired Captain having served in the United States Army Reserves. He was employed and retired from Bauer Lumber. Guy was a member of the Masonic Lodge AFAM #31 of Mannington as well as the BPOE Elks Lodge of Mannington, the Scottish 32nd Degree Mason, and the Osiris Shrine in Wheeling.
There will be no visitation or funeral services as cremation was chosen as the final method of disposition. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Huey-Thorne Cemetery or the WV Caring Hospice. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
