Harold Edward Clovis, 87 of Mannington, WV passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Heartland of Clarksburg Nursing Facility. He was born January 30, 1923 at Mannington, WV a son of the late Jefferson Elwood and Cora Belle Bartrug Clovis.
He is survived by his wife, Belvia Mary Stewart Clovis; one step son, Roger Lee Stewart and wife Nancy of Shinnston; four step grandchildren, Roger Lee Stewart II and wife Lisa of Alum Bridge, WV, Shawn Allen Stewart of Nashville, TN, Lance Quinton Stewart and wife Heather of Flemington, WV and Lisa Gail Fluharty and husband Jeff of Fairmont, WV and seven step great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Paul Brown Clovis of Weirton, WV; six nieces, Alisa Tennant and Andrea Taylor, both of Mannington, Darla Householder of Weirton, WV, Joyce Carey of California, Margaret Price of Morgantown, WV and Mable Kuhn of Wadestown, WV; two nephews, John Roupe of Four States, WV and Gary Clovis of Weirton, WV.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by three brothers, Herb, Everett and Carl Clovis, and four sisters, Mary Roupe, Gertrude Fluharty, Connie Sloan, and Eileen Hayway.
Mr. Clovis was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He retired from Weirton Steel as an electrician with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Weirton, WV and a member of the Calvary Temple at Worthington.
Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 4-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Shuttlesworth officiating. Burial will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
