Jack Clay Snider, age 84 of Idamay, WV went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. He was born at home in Seven Pines, WV on December 7, 1936 to the late Forest “Frosty” Snider and Helen (Rogers) Perine. He was a member of the Monongah Methodist Church. He was retired from the Marion County Board of Education after 36 years of service as a custodian. He loved to go fishing, hunting and spending time with family, friends and grandkids.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ressie (Tharp) Snider; three children, Jackson Snider, Roy Snider, and Geneva (Snider) Prunty along with her husband John Prunty III; four grandchildren, Kaila Snider, Ben Snider, Anthony Snider and Derek Prunty; seven great-grandchildren, Paige, Emily, “Little” Ben, Raelynn, Kailei, Kaine, and Fletcher; two sisters, Gay McDonald and Nova Henderson and her husband Ron Henderson; a sister-in-law, Carol Snider; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alva and Pearl Tharp; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Snider; three brothers, Robert “Bob” Snider, Eugene Starkey and wife Martha, and Bill Snider and wife JoAnne; two brothers-in-law, Charles McDonald and Clinton Tharp and wife Nancy (Carpenter) Tharp; nephew Robert Ashley; niece Shelly Ashley; great-nephew, Michael Hendershot; and several other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Hospice Care for their care during Jack’s illness.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 1-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 beginning at 1:00pm with Pastor Karl Streyle officiating. Interment will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. As we continue to recognize attending any services during the Covid-19 situation may not be in the best interest for some, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. Jack and I had a lot of good times together when we were kids. He wasn't just my cousin, he was my friend. He will be missed by all.
