James Carl Yost

James Carl "Jim" Yost, 65 of East Run Community, Farmington, WV passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at his residence.  He was born December 1, 1944 at Farmington, WV a son of the late Denzil and Bethel Cole Yost.

He was a loving and caring husband to his wife of 45 years, Kathryn Marie "Katie" Ennis Yost, two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly Lynn and Steve Martonosi of Mannington and Cindy and Brian Kuhn of Mannington,  three grandsons, Alex Martonosi and Caleb and Hunter Kuhn, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Barbara Yost of Midland, NC and Jerry and Doretta Yost of Hannibal, Ohio, step brother, Marvin and Kathy Lough of Mentor, Ohio, sisters-in-law, Marcie and Darell Toothman of Buckhannon and Jean Cole and Barbara Cole both of Mannington.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Jim was a devoted Member of the Mannington Church of Christ where he served as treasurer.  He had worked for Consolidation Coal Company, Four States Mine #20.  He served on the Condemnation Committee for the Marion County Courts.  He was employed by the City of Mannington as a police officer for 18 years.  He then worked for the City of Mannington as the Street Superintendant, retiring in 2005.  Jim enjoyed gardening and woodworking.  He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attended the NMHS Junior Pee Wee Wrestling Tournaments and the Pop Warner Football games. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Andrew Yost and a stepsister, Loretta Rowand.

Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 2-9 P.M. and on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. at the Mannington Church of Christ.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. at the Church of Christ with Evangelist Michael P. Reese and Evangelist Darell Toothman officiating.  Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Farmington.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at mastersfuneralhomewv.com.
