James “Lee” Efaw, 75 of Fairmont, WV and formerly of Deep Valley, Mannington, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior after an extended illness on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at St. Barbara’s Nursing Home.  He was born January 3, 1936 at Seven Pines, Mannington, WV a son of the late Thomas and Margaret Higginbotham Efaw.

Lee is survived by his wife of 57 years, Icie Higginbotham Efaw; his three children, daughter, Pamela Lee Gooch and husband Mel of Montana Mines, son, H. Wayne Efaw and wife Kathy of Fairmont, daughter, Kimberly Ann Summers and husband Greg “Grizz” of Fairmont; 5 grandchildren, Angela Jo Ash and husband Kenny of Fairmont, James Wayne Efaw and wife Ashley of Fairmont, Autumn Lee Knight and husband Tobey of California, MD, Megan Dawn Weese and husband Joel of Morgantown and Jaron Michael Summers of Fairmont; 2 great-grandchildren, Jaden Brook Efaw and Carter Ray Knight; one brother, Lloyd Neil Efaw of Fairmont.

In addition to her parents, Lee was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Elihu Efaw; a sister, Mary Jane Shuman; 3 half-brothers, Edward, Bill and Buster Efaw; 2 half-sisters, Dorothy Brown and Mabel Atkinson.

Lee was a bus driver for the Marion County Board of Education.  He retired from Carnegie Gas Company with 27 years of service.  He was a member of the New Beginning Worship Center in Fairmont.  He enjoyed being outdoors, riding horses and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved very much.

Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 1-9:00 P.M.  Funeral services will held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Allen Donham officiating.  Burial will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.  Condolences may be left for the family at mastersfuneralhomewv.com.

Aunt Icie, Pam, Wayne, Kim;

Sorry to hear of Uncle Lee's passing. While work and distance keep me from being there, I'm with you in spirit. I'm sure Dad and Jane were there to meet him with open arms. He will always be rembered.

Life is here today and over on earth tomorrow. What a wonderful thing it is to know Jesus Christ as Saviour. Can you imagine the homecoming Lee had when he got to Heaven. Lee would say today,

I am now in Heaven and o this place is grand, noone could ever tell me all the beauties of this land. Since i cannot describe it you will have to come and see that it was worth the trials of life to live here eternally.
