
James Thomas Ensminger, 90, of Mannington, passed away at his residence on Thursay, March 24, 2023. He was born June 25, 1932 at Buck Run in Wetzel County, a son of the late Lloyd Edgar and Connie Ethel Hillberry Ensminger.
James is survived by his wife of 71 years, Wilma Jean Shreve Ensminger, six daughters, Linda (Robert) Hawkins, Grant Town, Diane Ensminger of Fairmont, Joyce Duke of East Liverpool, OH, Kim Mullens of Fairmont, Tammie (Jim) Reed of Glovers Gap, Connie (Allen) Johnston of Fairmont, nine grandchildren, Stephen Miller, Danny Duke, Jessica Mayle, Jamie Duke, Joshua Merritt, Elizabeth Merritt, Eric Reed, Coty Reed, Bethany Slater, Gabrielle Vancourt, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, Shelby Rue, Mary Stull, Joann Burdine and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother Billy Ensminger, sisters Dora Efaw and Beulah Ensminger, son-in-laws Dale Merritt, Danny Duke Sr and Donnie Reed. James was a member of the UMWA and was employed at Bethleham Steel, Barrackville Mine as a roof bolter with 18 years of service. He was a member of the Llewellyn Baptist Church and was a door greeter at the church. He enjoyed his garden and fishing and mowing grass. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren very much.
Family and friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home in Mannington on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 2-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Larry Watson officiating. Burial will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
