Janet Lynette Gooch, age 82 of Fairmont and formerly of Mannington, WV passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Mapleshire Nursing Home in Morgantown. She was born February 4, 1937 in Marion County, the daughter of the late Arkey Amos Gooch and Evelyn Nevada Starkey Gooch West.
She is survived by two brothers, Melvin L. Gooch of Mannington and Ronald Allen Gooch of Fairmont; a niece and 2 nephews, Rebecca and Greg Parrish of Hunnelstown, PA, Melvin and Pamela Gooch of Fairmont, and Tim Gooch and significant other Carol Morris of Fairmont; 4 great-nieces, one great-nephew, 4 great-great-nephews and 1 great-great-niece.
Janet was a 1958 graduate of Mannington High School. She was employed at the Drapery Factory until it closed. She was a Protestant by faith. She was a wonderful quilter and embroiderer. She worked on her parents farm and was a very hard worker.
There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral services. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 1:30pm with Pastor Greg Roth officiating at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com.
