Janet Mae Tennant, 73, of Plum Run, Mannington, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. She was born October 20, 1946, in Wadestown, WV a daughter of the late Albert and Wilma Criss Whittaker.

Janet is survived by her six children, Kevin Tennant of Texas, Tammy Jacobs of Mt. Airy, Maryland, Paula Tennant-Lantz and husband Doug of Belington, Tracie Heldreth and husband Frank of Mannington, Kurtiss Tennant of Barrackville, and Pamela Miller of Capon Bridge; a sister, Dorothy Barr and husband Jake of Daybrook, a brother, John Whittaker and wife Sylvia of Daybrook, sister-in-law Loretta Fluharty, and brother-in-law Richard Tennant and wife Onedia; grandchildren, Tiffany Tennant, Ashleigh and Andrew Cummings, Erika Jacobs, Levi and Danielle Heldreth, Zaccheus and Ella Tennant, Brianna Maxwell and Chase Painter; special friends, Mary Gump and Rose Fluharty, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Blaine Tennant on May 15, 2014.

Janet was a member of the East High Street Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing dominoes with the ladies’ group, camping at Big Bear Lake, shopping, and spending time with her family. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Foundation of Monongalia General Hospital (Zelda Stein Weiss Cancer Center), 1200 JD Anderson Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505 (please designate cancer fund in memo) or the Fairmont Union Mission.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:30am in the funeral home with the Pastor Dave Yanero and Rev. Mark Osbourne officiating. Entombment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Garden Cemetery in Fairmont. Online condolences may be left at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com and the funeral home facebook page.
