Joann M. Flora, 72 of Mannington, WV, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born October 5, 1939 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Allen James Carter and Anna Julian Hanson Carter.
She is survived by her husband, Verne Flora of Mannington, WV; six children, Kandie Chabot of Mannington, Dawn Flora of Mannington, James A. Flora of Girard, PA, Billy Flora of Manchester, TN, Douglas Lee Flora of Sioux Falls, SD and Donald Lee Flora of Flanders, MN; 20+ grandchildren, 10+ great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Genburg of Jamestown, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by 2 great-grandsons, Mitchel Le Martinez and Earl Thomas Flora.
Joann enjoyed her roses in her garden and watching the hummingbirds. She enjoyed her boxer dogs, especially “Princess”. She had been ill for quite some time.
There will be no public viewing or funeral services. Cremation was chosen as her final method of disposition. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
