John William Yost, age 70, of Mannington, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at his residence. He was born December 2, 1949, in Mannington, WV, a son of the late Frank Alfred Yost and Mary Isabell Wells Yost.
He is survived by two sisters, Diane Schwartz of Mannington, and Sarah Margaret Maddux and husband Gene of Suitland, MD; one brother, Frank Walter Yost of Mannington; one niece, Amy Schwartz and four nephews, Jeremy Schwartz, Chuck Yost, Frank Yost and Robert Yost, all of Ohio; 1 great-niece and 6 great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Yost.
John was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam for 2 tours. He was a handyman and had worked at the Old Bucket Factory in Idamay. He collected lighthouses.
Family and friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, Friday, January 31, 2020 from 10:00am to 1:00pm with funeral services following at 1:00pm with Pastor Bill Coon officiating. Full Military Rites will be accorded by the United States Army and the Marion County Veterans Council. Interment will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
