John Thomas Zemonick Jr., age 49 of Mannington, WV passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022. He was born October 18, 1972 in Fairmont, WV, a son of John Zemonick Sr. of Plum Run and Eloise “Sissy” (Bill) Merrifield Reid of Rivesville.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by one daughter, Alexandria Zemonick of Morgantown; one cousin, Tinker Merrifield of Nashville, TN; two uncles, Mike Zemonick of Mannington and Robert Zemonick of Mannington; several cousins; his good friend Jon “Fleabag” Fleeman and his beloved dog Bella.
John was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Zemonick who died June 11, 2021; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Emma Zemonick; maternal grandparents, Robert and Helen Merrifield Sr.; his uncle Robert “Moose” Merrifield, and his first dog, Samson.
John enjoyed welding, being in the outdoors ginsenging, hunting and camping along the Elk River. He also enjoyed canning vegetables.
Per John’s request, cremation was chosen as his final method of disposition. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
