Julia Angotti Root passed away on October 24, 2017, after an extensive battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born August 25, 1929 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Salvatore John and Rose Marie Angotti. She was preceded in death by one brother, Salvatore Angotti and three sisters, Anna Brinegar, Sophia Saluga and Mary Brady.
She is survived by her daughter Jeannie Schaad and husband, Tom, of FL., son Robert Root Jr. and wife, Carol, of WV and daughter, Mary Ellen, of FL; grandchildren Joseph Shenal and wife, Carey, of VA, Jennifer Poling, of NC, Robert Root III, of WV, Julie Shenal, of VA, Nicole Houston, of FL, Nichole and Danny Phillips, of NC, Ashleigh and William Mathews, and Thomas Schaad III; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Kaden Poling, of NC, Eden and Turner Shenal, of VA, Bailey and Evan Root, of WV, Demarius Houston, of FL, Liam Mathews, of FL, and Lorena Phillips, of NC; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Julia was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mannington, WV and St. Clare parish in North Palm Beach, FL.
In accordance with her wishes, Quattlebaum Funeral Home, West Palm Beach, FL will be providing cremation services. At a later date to be announced, a Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mannington with Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV providing service for Julia’s interment beside her beloved husband, Bob, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown, WV.
