Junior Stevens, 85 of Mannington, WV passed away on Monday, August 13, 2012 at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born February 19, 1927 at Joe’s Run in Mannington, WV, the son of the late Kinsey Stevens and Nellie Huffman Stevens.
He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sharon Stevens of Whetstone; one sister, Helen Uiselt of Wadsworth, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Elaine Hamilton Stevens, who died February 1, 2006; 3 brothers, Charles Stevens, George Stevens and Glen Stevens; one sister, Edna Baker, and an infant sister, Mary Stevens.
Junior retired from WV Department of Transportation in 1989 as a truck driver. He attended Whetstone Grade School and Gransville Grade School. He was affiliated with Noah’s Ark Assembly of God in Fairview, WV. He loved his cats and enjoyed sitting out every evening watching cars travel past his house. He enjoyed life and when his sister visited from Ohio.
Family and Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 2-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Doug Barber officiating. Burial will follow at Whetstone Cemetery.
